Michael Mense joined the firm in 2018 after almost a decade as the Managing Shareholder of his own Workers’ Compensation defense firm. During that time, Mr. Mense handled all aspects of defense litigation taking pride in not only Take Nothings but early fiscally responsible settlements that resulted in quick closures of claims. Prior to opening his own firm, Mr. Mense worked as an associate at two statewide workers’ compensation firms since his admission to the Bar in 2001 gathering invaluable experience handling large insured and self-insured accounts as well as public entities.
Prior to graduating from California State University, Northridge, Mr. Mense played football for Trinity University and was part of an SCAC Championship team in 1993. Subsequently, he returned to California and continued his football career as a high school football and strength coach for his alma mater while finishing college.
Outside the office, Mr. Mense continues to volunteer his time as a coach in youth baseball, football and girls softball, all but guaranteeing most of his weekends are spent on a field or diamond somewhere in beautiful Southern California.
